Feel envy of the driven
Whose calm one claim disturbs
One cause, single and strong,
Insists be wholly given
Up to its sole purpose
With frantic speed headlong.
For these, when they have striven
(‘Though comfort it usurps)
Then know where they belong.

Or those who mould the choices
Everywhere upthrown
With such resource of time
That ‘though ten thousand voices
Call (when one alone’s
Sufficiently sublime
To make a life rejoice)
They hear ere it has flown
A majestic chorus chime!

There are rather fewer than ten thousand voices calling from the links listed below, but I will keep devoting to them my remaining resource of time.
My bandcamp page is where to find the music below all in one place. Some of my work is on Youtube and I warmly invite you to subscribe!

Ecopella                                                                                                                                                 The People Have Songs
This is the main thing I do, and have done for over twenty-six years. Almost makes a dying planet worthwhile. I'm better at choral music than I am at jokes.   A double CD compilation of folk songs sung at the turn of the century by forty or so harmonious people I knew and treasured. "Gosh it's amazing!" says Christina Mimmocchi.
I've made imaginatively titled sequels called 'More People Have Songs' and 'Even More People Have Songs'.

Andsome Friends                                                                                                            Song Brother
An a cappella ensemble that I formed to record my original music, now includes pieces by colleagues Terry Clinton and Dallas de Brabander. Live gigs are both rare and valuable. It took ten years to finish our first album, Colours In My Head. Very worth the wait. Now there are three.   ‘Song brother’ was an affectionate term used by Anthony Woolcott and Miguel Heatwole during 25 years together in the vocal trio Triantan. Sophie Moore is now a younger sister in this exciting new trio. Traditional folksongs, 1970s prog-rock, and Tolkein!

MaD aDaM   Unrest
My girlfrriend's name is Dallas. Mine's Miguel. We're Miguel and Dallas and Dallas and Miguel. Acronymic palindrome. Palindromic acronym.   The first volume of this song cycle was recorded with the Song Company in 2009. Each piece expresses an aspect of that disturbance natural to a life-loving person in distressing and declining times. The poem at the top of this page comes from track one. A second volume was made by Andsome Friends in 2023.

Better Times   Triantán
This song won the Alistair Hulett memorial 'Songs For Social Justice Award' in 2017. It was videoed at the National Folk Festival.   Folk vocal harmony trio had nearly 25 years of singing spine tingling Gaelic and English songs and dressing up in plaidies. Gotta love that. Our second album is called Turn Again.
